AC Shadows Introduces Surprising Attack on Titan Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a bizarre partnership that challenges conventional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Uncovered
According to the formal statement, "A mysterious meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where hints of prohibited rituals and fearsome changes resonate through the shadows." The plot features a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a clandestine cult.
The mission focuses on "strange trials and a fearsome enemy" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Metamorphoses
The teaser highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a striking scene showing a character, presumably the captive, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Additional Content
Players who finish the mission will acquire an unique katana in addition to several objects concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Update
This patch also adds the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic skills: Naoe debuts a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This represents not the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with famous anime properties. The series formerly featured a 2020 cross-promotional story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
