Beloved Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.

US performer Pat Finn, who featured in popular TV shows like "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.

The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles recently after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, as reported by news outlets.

"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his family said in a message.

They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

A Notable TV Career

His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.

He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He starred as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a social organizer known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.

Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on several well-known programs, like:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

Finn was perhaps best known for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.

His film credits include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Off-Screen Life

Away from his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.

He was part of a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired many learners throughout the years and it would be difficult to find someone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.

Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared on social media.

The actor is remembered by his wife Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
