Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage includes text commentary for the weekend matchups via various channels, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage is available through select stations covering a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

It's week six in the football calendar , following recent discussion about two top teams as possible championship contenders, they both surrendered their unbeaten records.

Striking in those games were the amount of penalties each conceded. The Eagles committed them at crucial times meaning they essentially beat themselves having led by two touchdowns going into the fourth period against the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this Sunday.

However it proved good to observe how Denver's QB Bo Nix was able to have the shortfall before lead three scoring drives in three attempts in the fourth quarter, to win the game by four points.

Denver boast the defensive player of the year in CB their star corner. They rank first in red zone defence, while Philadelphia are number one in scoring near the end zone, and the Broncos prevailed in that contest.

They had the Eagles' number in terms of disguised blitzes. They did not always rushing more than four pass rushers but they could position two linebackers in the interior before drop them out and send a nickel off the edge.

At the start of the season, we said on a program that the Broncos could be the current year's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year strongly and did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this season's underdog story?

Recently acquired TE Evan Engram has stepped up significantly and recent running back their rusher is a guy they believe in. He now ranks 5th league-wide in ground gains (over 400) and tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

I love how the coach the Broncos' leader has "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.

That shows that Denver are a team that wants to run first, since one can achieve much off the back of that. It slows opposing rushes and keeps you in favourable situations.

This has helped QB Bo Nix, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick last year, throwing 29 touchdown passes – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess the arm strength to pass anywhere, but they lack in the same way as Nix. He boasts incredible passing ability, a unique trait, plus he is so athletic.

His assets are his mobility, the capacity to throw on the run, and using different arm angles to make throws when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to throw precision throws over the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got a lot of composure under pressure and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to avoid being tackled as much as possible and can pass in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and remains very decisive.

When you constantly rush it eats up time and makes the defence to stay on the field for longer, and when you have an athletic quarterback the defence must cover the area downfield side to side. This proves draining.

The quarterback has bitten back at Payton on the sideline at times and I think Payton appreciates that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. I think it's fun for him to have a young quarterback who's similar to play-dough. The coach can really develop him the way he wants to shape him. I believe it's a special experience for the coach.

The head coach has won a championship and has surpassed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen it all. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are experiencing offensively is largely down to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the pairing with Nix aids shape him what he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you during some of the tougher situations and build confidence.

I believe in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team good enough to go against an elite team at its best? Since that was not championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.

Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are incredible. They're working above average, which is a good place to be in their division. All they need is to continue this path.

They're really good at embracing their forte, that is running the ball, and that's exactly what they must do against the New York Jets in London. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (10th worst), and they're the only team without a win a game.

Since the NFL began tracking turnovers in 1933, the Jets are the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers through five games, which is surprising considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' following a recent loss to Jacksonville.

Following the upcoming matchup, Denver face a manageable slate until their break (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus the Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs are 2-3 and the Broncos are even with the Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run at leading the West.

It depends upon what version Kansas City shows up they meet because Denver {beat|def
