She noted she wanted to avoid feeling pressure from a human personal trainer.

"Using artificial intelligence you have to find your own drive, which I actually prefer," she remarked.

Meanwhile, Richard Gallimore, in his twenties, based in Swansea, has been using artificial intelligence for his fitness and diet plans, and reported he has never felt stronger, increasing his chest press from 70kg to a much heavier load.

"In my opinion it's extremely useful, additional information is good," he said.
"I believe the more that people are connected digitally the more they'll want personal contact because they want the empathy from the comprehension that is absent from a computer," he added.

Dafydd explained Artificial intelligence can educate users and make coaching more effective.

But, he said real commitment comes when people show up physically for their sessions.

"As useful as it is at 2am, a digital tool won't keep you accountable at early morning before work," he concluded.

For many, he said, the fitness center is a place to disconnect from devices and take a break from technology.
