Previous BBC Consultants Face Members of Parliament's Grilling Following Assertions of Prejudice in Disclosed Memo

Ex- BBC consultants appearing at MPs

We begin with queries from Conservative MP the panel's head, who leads the committee.

She commences by offering context to the unauthorized document written by Michael Prescott and printed in a national newspaper.

"I do not desire the BBC tilting in any particular direction, I simply desire it balanced, fair and equitable," he declares.

In response to a query whether he believes the British Broadcasting Corporation is institutionally biased, the adviser responds: "Absolutely not. It is important to note, tons of stuff the British Broadcasting Corporation produces is top-tier - both documentary and fictional shows."

But he adds: "There is real work that requires attention at the British Broadcasting Corporation."

The second previous consultant British Broadcasting Corporation adviser questioned by the committee, Caroline Daniel, says she views the British Broadcasting Corporation extremely earnestly and that it has a "ongoing system and vigorous discourse" on dynamic and complex subjects.

"Did the BBC prepared to engage in a genuine conversation and exchange and take action?" she questions. "In my view, affirmative, they were."
