Pitarch worked his way up to the reserve side and it was during a friendly match in which they played against the academy's first team, then coached by the former defender, where the youngster is said to have caught the attention of the current Real boss, who took over from the previous coach in the new year.

Spanish media would later label the moment as "love at first sight," noting Pitarch excelled not only for his skill on the ball, but for the vitality, character and drive he brought to the side.

'His Greatest Quality Remains His Character'

During the pre-season of 2025, former boss Xabi Alonso invited Pitarch to train with the senior squad and awarded him playing time in the warm-up matches.

Yet, it was the change in manager that proved the defining moment in his career as he came on as a late substitute in both ties against the Portuguese side that set up the meeting with Pep Guardiola's team.

"I've dreamed of this every night before going to bed, the very first time I began playing the game, every day you head to training and every day you play a match," stated Pitarch after his first appearance.

"I've just achieved my ambition with the best team in the world and in the top tournament."

"He is a extremely fast footballer, and you can observe his capabilities," said the coach. "He's extremely energetic, with great stamina, work-rate and movement."

The player's mindset has also impressed his coach.

"His greatest quality is his character," added he. "He constantly demands the possession, and even under pressure, he remains unfazed.

"I realize fans might be astonished to watch him start in a European fixture, but he's playing because I had total confidence in him to do his normal game.

"He will keep receiving opportunities with the first team. It's a pleasure to coach a talent like him."

Spain or Morocco?
